Nine Months Old Already!!??

This is how I found Jaeli this morning sleeping in her crib... I don't know how she manages to get herself into some positions, but she is all over the place when she sleeps. The bumper pad in the crib has definitely seen better days, the tie strings are mostly ripped off and the pad won't really stay in the upright position anymore. If you look closely you can see the bite marks on the top of the crib railing where she chewed. Guess her new top teeth are coming in handy for something. Like destroying furniture!
Jaeli's 9 month doctor appointment was yesterday and she is doing great. Right on track for all the 9 month milestones and a little advanced with some things, like drinking from straws. She still only says "dadadada" and "byebyebyebye". Lately she has been mixing the "zzzz" sound with some words. She weighs a whopping 18lbs now and is 28 inches long. She really didn't gain much in height or weight the past 3 months. She is just a tiny thing, I guess. I just know that I can't really carry her around in her carseat anymore. Tooo heavy!

Wine Rack = Baby Jungle Gym

Jaeli loooves to play on things that are made of metal! If she disappears into the kitchen then I know she is swinging off of the wine rack...

Her balance has gotten so great lately that I don't even worry about it now...

Just today she stood up in the middle of the kitchen. At one point she was crawling around with a spoon in her little fist and I looked over at her and watched her just stand upright with nothing to hold onto. Just stood there with her little spoon for about 30 seconds. I was telling everyone how crazy it would be to get her out of the car, out of her INFANT CAR SEAT, and just set her on the ground and let her walk into places... and I am afraid if she keeps it up that might be just the case!!

Teddy Grahams?! Yum-O!!

We've recently found out that you just can't leave things laying around... Of course, Caitlin still hasn't caught on to that concept.

And, lately it's been very hard to leave her alone just to make a quick trip to the bathroom not 2 feet away!

I think it's hilarious because it looks like she has chocolate snot coming out of her nose...

She is very good about not putting MOST things into her mouth, though. And when I say MOST things... I mean anything that is NOT edible goes into her mouth. If you offer her food to feed herself with, she just clenches it in her fist and crawls around with it.

Thank You, Aunt Delayna!

Alex's sister made Jaeli a hat and mailed it to her the other day. Of course, we couldn't resist having a "fashion show" to show off her new accessory!

Well, it fits perfectly! Almost! It covers her ears, and that is all I needed!

She loves wearing hats and I think that this one is the most adorable one so far! Way better than anything we could have bought in the store! So, thank you once again Aunt Delayna!

Giving Daddy Mini-Strokes!

I am posting these pictures for Alex only because I know it worries him... one of those "daddy-buttons" I can push. He repeatedly tells me how much he worries about her pulling up on things and standing on her own. I laugh.

I wonder how he will handle the next batch of pictures that show her climbing the stairs?? :)

Of course, I am totally kidding! It's hard enough on both of us seeing her suddenly let go of what ever she is holding onto and try to start taking steps in a certain direction!

Busy Busy!

This is for those of you who are wondering why I don't blog as frequently as I once used to...

For the past two weeks all I can think about is where there are dangling cords attached to something heavy and where every sharp edge on things are. Not only is Jaeli getting any where that she wants to, it's to the point that I can't put anything "up" out of her reach.

Not only did she start crawling earlier than most babies, I knew I was going to have trouble when she was always looking up. It wasn't enough that she could get to where she wanted to go... but she had to immediately take it to the next level and say "forget this crawling stuff!"

She always looks to see where I am to make sure I am watching her "big moment".

And, tada! She looks so proud of herself when she gets into the standing position! She has been doing this for the past two weeks now and I am just now getting around to posting a blog about it. And, this is with NO HELP from me. I look at the pictures and all I can think is "sharp wooden corners and hard metal posts in the background... "

*And a little side note, she is already trying to hook her toes into the front of the couch to climb onto it!!!*

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Jaeli LOVED watching the snow pour down today!

It was so cute watching her expression with her eyes so big and her little mouth made into a perfect "O".

Sitting there with her and watching, it made me feel as though we both were in a little snow globe!

This is exactly what I missed while living in Texas. I know it gets tiresome after a long winter... but it's so pretty and always still has that "magical" feeling to it.
